Principal Engineer/Vice President
Mr. Charles Burgin (Chuck) is a licensed engineer and licensed geologist with over 40 years of service in geotechnical consulting including 38 at BHATE. He is responsible for the technical and administrative operations of the Geotechnical Division and supervises the geotechnical project managers, project engineers, geologists and support personnel. Chuck has been involved with over 2,500 projects across the Southeast United States and has significant experience with geologic mapping, slope stability analyses, subsurface evaluations, foundation design and forensic studies of distressed structures. He has a special interest in the evaluation of karst conditions and sinkhole development and mitigation.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, he performed his graduate studies in Geology and Civil Engineering at the University of Florida.
