BHATE Celebrates 45 Years

BHATE Geosciences Corporation (BHATE) celebrates 45 years of providing innovative engineering solutions that save our clients time and money.

Uday Bhate, Senior Principal Engineer, founded BHATE in Birmingham in 1975 with a simple belief that we would serve our clients better than anyone in the industry – and we continue that pursuit every day. Our deep gratitude goes out to our outstanding clients and loyal team. We invite our clients, team members, sub-consultant partners and vendors to celebrate this 45th milestone with us.

BHATE’s success is attributed to our resilience in the face of challenges, willingness to adapt in times of change and ability to be insightful in our decisions. Our success is tied to relationships and trust that we have built with clients over the past 45 years. We have the privilege to continue working hard every day to serve many of the clients who have been with us since the beginning and for decades including UAB, Baptist Health System, St. Vincent’s, Children’s of Alabama, City of Birmingham, BJCC, Jefferson County Board of Education, Brasfield & Gorrie, Hoar Construction, Robins & Morton, Corporate Realty, Bayer Properties, US Steel and many others to which we express our appreciation for your continued trust in us.

The industry has recognized BHATE with honors such as the American Consulting Engineering Council “Excellence Award”, SubAla “Engineering Firm of the Year” and Associated Builders & Contractors “Safest in the Industry” and “Excellence in Construction”. Uday Bhate was inducted in the Associated General Contractors of Alabama “Construction Hall of Fame”.

Notable projects over 45 years include Amazon Distribution Center in Bessemer, LSU University Medical Center, Grandview Medical Center, Encompass Health, Lyric Theater, The Summit Shopping Center, Auburn University Advanced Structural Testing Lab, HealthSouth, Wind Creek Casino and Pensacola Bay Bridge, as well as dozens of projects for UAB, St. Vincent’s, Children’s of Alabama, ALDOT and MDOT. One cannot drive through Birmingham without seeing BHATE signs on job sites or view the firm’s projects such as Interstate 20/59, the BJCC, Top Golf, Harbert Plaza, United States Treasury Building and Social Security Building and the building known for decades as the SouthTrust Tower.

BHATE has grown to include 90 team members who serve our clients throughout the Southeast with efficiency from our locations throughout Alabama (Birmingham, Opelika, Fairhope), Florida (Pensacola), and Mississippi (Gulfport, Jackson).

Looking ahead, our future as a company is bright. BHATE has been and will continue to be a small firm with large firm capabilities. As our team’s capabilities continue to advance and evolve, we are enthusiastic about our future, with the promise of continued innovation, creativity and growth.
