BHATE Geosciences has repeatedly worked on multiple projects at Grandview Medical Center campus including the hospital, two medical office buildings, two parking decks, a cancer center, and the diagnostics and emergency areas.
Difficult terrain dictated that up to three floors of underground parking were required. To achieve cost savings and reliable building support, some of the buildings were designed partially for spread footing foundations and partially for drilled shaft foundations.
BHATE provided geotechnical design and CMTI services on the main hospital and multiple structures including concrete moisture vapor emission rate, compressive strength of masonry prisms and concrete, fireproofing, floor flatness/floor levelness, foundations, grout, masonry, reinforcing steel and rebar, soils and steel.
Grandview Medical Center is a 930,000 SF hospital with 400 beds and a 1 million SF parking deck with a construction cost of $280 million.
