Brookwood Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department

With over 25,000 square feet, the Brookwood Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department is one of the first FED facilities in Alabama and will provide imaging and diagnostics, 24-hour facilities for EMS and ambulances, heliport, emergency systems and twelve private exam rooms with specialized support for mental health and cardiac trauma.

BHATE Geosciences provided a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment, subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering services and materials testing for quality control on asphalt, concrete, earthwork, masonry, steel and reinforcing steel as well as tested for floor flatness/floor levelness and fireproofing materials.

The team on this $15-million project included Capital Growth Medvest, Hoar Construction and Evan Terry Associates and BHATE Geosciences.

BHATE has worked on dozens of projects for Brookwood Medical Center and Brookwood Baptist Health including the main hospital, the Women’s Center, Cancer Center and numerous parking decks.
